Division 22 Assurances, January 14, 2019
It is that time of year again when districts are expected to report to their communities regarding compliance of Division 22 Standards. For the 2019 Assurances, school district superintendents inform local school boards and the community of compliance or non-compliance with each of the Division 22 Standards for the 2017-18 school year; and if there have been any recent changes in policy or practice that may take the district out of compliance with any Division 22 Standards during the current school year (2018-19).
As reported to the board on January 22, 2018, we were compliant in all Division 22 Standards with the exception of the need for a local adoption of instructional materials for Health & PE which was to be concluded prior to September, 2018. As you recall, the board approved the local adoption for Health & PE at the June 18, 2018 school board meeting. Further, our district secured a waiver for Science instructional materials until the conclusion of the 2018-19 school year and efforts are underway to bring these materials to the board for a local adoption prior to September, 2018.
Therefore, I am pleased to report that our district is compliant for all Division 22 Standards for the 2017-18 school year and there have not been any recent changes in policy or practice that may take the district out of compliance with any Division 22 Standards during the current school year.
