NEW! - Oregon Paid Family Medical Leave (PFML)
On August 9, 2019, Governor Kate Brown signed House Bill 2005 into law. This new law establishes a paid family and medical leave program for all employees in Oregon beginning September 3, 2023. There is a 1% tax that will begin September 3, 2023 (for FGSD employees). Employees will pay 60% of the tax and employers will pay 40%. You will see this new deduction (OR PFML) on your September paycheck.

2. Notify HR as soon as possible that you will be out on an Oregon Paid Family Medical Leave
3. Fill out a FMLA/OFLA form, have your principal sign it and send it to the HR office
4. Indicate on the FMLA/OFLA form if you want to backfill your pay from The Standard with your sick leave and/or personal leave*
*note: all absences for an Oregon Paid Family Medical Leave should be entered as Leave Without Pay in Frontline and pay will be docked from your paychecks while you are receiving pay from The Standard. The law allows you to use your paid leave to make up the difference between your dock and the amount that you are paid from The Standard, but you MUST notify the payroll department in writing for this to happen (indicating that you want to do this on the FMLA/OFLA form will suffice).
