General Information:
On August 19, 2021, Governor Brown announced mandatory vaccinations for all K-12 education. The rule applies to anyone who is employed by or volunteers in a public school, private school, parochial school, or charter school, alternative educational program or school-based program or who is not employed but otherwise engaged to provide goods or services to a school or school-based program through any formal or informal agreement, whether compensated or uncompensated, and includes but is not limited to teachers, administrative staff, coaches, drivers, and volunteers. This rule applies to before/after school programs located at schools. (Short-term visitors or individuals making deliveries are not subject to this rule). The individuals must submit proof of full vaccination against COVID-19 or have an approved religious or medical exception for the COVID-19 vaccination on or before October 18, 2021.
Oregon Health Authority 333-019-1030
Due to limited space in the buildings and the district's interest in limiting the spread of COVID-19, volunteers will generally not be allowed on district property, including inside and outside schools during school hours. However, we understand there may be select opportunities where exceptions may be made. These exceptions are at the sole discretion of the building principal based on the individual needs at each building. Volunteers will be required to follow all building health protocols including maintaining physical distancing and wearing masks.
Starting October 18, 2021 Volunteers will be required to comply with the governor’s Temporary Administrative Order PH 39-2021. All volunteers will need to provide proof of vaccination status by submitting a copy of their Oregon Health Authority’s Immunization Registry or vaccination card. The District is currently working on a process for this. In the meantime, please continue to fill out the volunteer application form on the district website and then forward proof of vaccination to [email protected].
