2020 Census Information
What is the census?
The U.S. Constitution mandates a headcount of everyone residing in the 50 states, Puerto Rico, and the Island Areas of the United States every 10 years. This includes people of all ages, races, ethnic groups, citizens, and noncitizens. Census data is used to determine the distribution of congressional seats to a state, number of electoral votes, state redistricting and the allocation of an estimated 800 billion dollars a year for Medicare, schools, roads and other public institutions and services.
There is a need for individuals to work with the Census. You can apply online (2020census.gov/jobs) or call 1-855-563-2020.
