The Forest Grove School District (FGSD) is pleased to announce that Arturo Lomeli has been selected asthe new Director of Curriculum and Instruction. This position was created after the former Director of Human Resources, Kevin Noreen, informed the district he would be leaving his position in February. At that time, the District announced that it would be making some assignment changes; Assistant Sup
erintendent John O'Neill would be taking over HR duties and opening the position of Director of Curriculum and Instruction.
Mr. Lomeli comes to the Forest Grove School District from Belton, Texas where he has served as the Executive Director of Secondary School Leadership since 2020. His duties included supervising three high schools, four middle schools while providing direct oversight and coaching for instructional/operational school improvement plans. Prior to serving as Executive Director, he served as the Opening Principal of Glenn High School in Leander, Texas. Prior to moving to Texas, Mr. Lomeli served as the Principal at Hillsboro High School and the Principal at South Meadows Middle School in the Hillsboro School District.
“I am honored and excited to become part of the Forest Grove family,” said Lomeli when asked about joining FGSD. “It is our goal to meet the academic, social, and emotional needs of each and every student so that they have the opportunity to be challenged to grow in the Forest Grove School District. I look forward to partnering with students, staff, and families.”
Mr. Lomeli earned his Bachelors of Science from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo and his Masters of Arts degree in Teaching from George Fox University. He also holds his Administrative License from Portland State University.
The District is excited to welcome Mr. Lomeli as part of the team and wishes him well as he begins the next chapter of his career here in Forest Grove.

El Sr. Lomeli obtuvo su Licenciatura en Ciencias de la Universidad Estatal Politécnica de California, San Luis Obispo y su Maestría en Artes en Enseñanza de la Universidad George Fox. También tiene su Licencia Administrativa de la Universidad Estatal de Portland.
