The Forest Grove School District’s Human Resources Director, Kevin Noreen, has informed the district that he will be resigning from his position at the end of February to start a personal consulting business. We are grateful for Kevin’s leadership over the past eight years and wish him the best of luck with his new endeavor.
This resignation gives the district an opportunity to change some of the duties of senior management staff. Currently, the Assistant Superintendent, John O’Neill, oversees school operations, supervision of all K-8 Principals, Federal Title Programs, and the Curriculum and Instruction Department. We have asked John to oversee the Human Resource Department in addition to his current duties for the remainder of this school year or until a new director is hired. Members of the Curriculum & Instruction team and other senior staff will provide support where needed to manage through the interim period.
Moving forward, Superintendent Parker intends to shift the Human Resources Department responsibilities to the Assistant Superintendent’s oversight. John will maintain the supervision of school operations and K-8 Principals. A new Director of Curriculum and Instruction will be posted in early February. This new position will be responsible for setting priorities and accountability for all district curriculum implementation, alignment, assessment, and improved instructional practices in addition to oversight of Federal and State Grants.

El Director de Recursos Humanos del Distrito Escolar de Forest Grove, Kevin Noreen, ha informado al distrito que renunciará a su cargo a fines de febrero para iniciar un negocio de consultoría personal. Esta renuncia le da al distrito la oportunidad de cambiar algunos de los deberes del personal directivo superior. Actualmente, el Superintendente Asistente, John O'Neill, supervisa las operaciones escolares, la supervisión de todos los directores de K-8, los Programas de Título Federal y el Departamento de Currículo e Instrucción. Le hemos pedido a John que supervise el Departamento de Recursos Humanos además de sus funciones actuales por el resto de este año escolar o hasta que se contrate a un nuevo director. Los miembros del equipo de Currículo e Instrucción y otro personal superior brindarán apoyo cuando sea necesario para administrar durante el período intermedio.
En el futuro, el Superintendente Parker tiene la intención de cambiar las responsabilidades del Departamento de Recursos Humanos a la supervisión del Asistente del Superintendente. John mantendrá la supervisión de las operaciones escolares y los directores de K-8. Se publicará un nuevo Director de Currículo e Instrucción a principios de febrero. Esta nueva posición será responsable de establecer prioridades y responsabilidad para la implementación, alineación, evaluación y mejores prácticas de instrucción del plan de estudios del distrito, además de la supervisión de las subvenciones federales y estatales.
