Enroll and Transfer
Transfers are required for students to attend a school other than their "home school", the school assigned based on the parent/guardian's legal address of residence.
Students should plan to attend their home school until their transfer is approved.
The in-district transfer process only applies to Forest Grove School District (FGSD) residents. This process is for students who wish to apply to schools within the FGSD for grades K-6. All resident students need to be enrolled at their home school in the FGSD before submitting a transfer request.
The request window occurs annually April 1 through May 31. Please fill out the form and return to the school you wish your student to attend. Every attempt will be made to notify families about the status of their request prior to August 15th. However, some schools may not be able to act on requests until they have a better idea of their resident student enrollment numbers. Any requests submitted for incoming kindergarteners may be held for consideration until school starts.
Inter-District Transfers This Window is now closed
The inter-district transfer process applies to resident students who wish to transfer to other districts (e.g. Hillsboro or Banks School Districts) or non-resident students who wish to transfer into Forest Grove School District.
The request window for the 2019-2020 School Year is April 1 - May 15, 2019.
Slots approved by Forest Grove School District Board of Directors are:
Transferring Into FGSD: 9th grade - 10 slots | 10th grade - 5 slots | 11th grade - 5 slots
Transferring Out of FGSD: 20 slots total grades K-12
Applications will be processed after the May 15th deadline. If there are more applications received than available slots an equitable lottery will be held.
Families will be notified by mail no later than May 31, 2019.
Forms should be turned into Kathy Bahnsen at the District Office | 1728 Main Street - Forest Grove, OR 97116 | firstname.lastname@example.org
